END OF YEAR CAMPAIGN

The Union Cultural Center (UCC) stands as a beacon of cultural connection and transformative education for all ages. This year, we invite you to join us as monthly donors to sustain and grow the cultural vibrancy that UCC brings to life.

We are proud to offer a welcoming space where cultural arts serve as tools for building community and challenging social structures that hinder our full, authentic expression. Through your support, we can continue to:
  • Fill gaps in school curriculum that bring representation to the brilliance of Black history
  • Develop approaches to health disparities that honors our holistic wellness
  • Create brave spaces for those looking to replenish a cultural emptiness.
As one of our students put it
“UCC provides a positive social space where individual are accepted as they are and further invited to share all of themselves in the space.”

OUR PROGRAMS & OFFERINGS

Your donation will sustain the Union Cultural Center’s programs, events, and cultural preservation projects, ensuring we can continue to celebrate and uplift diverse traditions. It will also help us maintain our center as an affordable and accessible gathering space for our community and other organizations.

Nourishian Program

The Nourishian program is a life skills program for young people ages 16-21. This 6-week training equips participants with essential skills and body awareness to support their holistic health. It includes meal planning, budgeting, cooking, gardening, financial literacy, and mental health tools, empowering individuals to cultivate wellness in all aspects of their lives.

Workshops & Events

We offer weekly workshops celebrating Afro-Diasporic traditions such as Puerto Rican Bomba, Capoeira Angola, Afro-Brazilian dance, and more. Our special events include Illuminate, a quarterly celebration of Afro-Diasporic arts, and Grounded in Freedom, a three-day event focused on land stewardship and cultural connection.

Cultural Preservations

In partnership with Sage Arts, UCC produced Carangolo, an album celebrating Capoeira Angola, an Afro-Brazilian martial art blending music, movement, and philosophy. This project preserves traditional songs while introducing innovative rhythms with our Berimbau Orchestra, marking a step in our commitment to cultural preservation.

Community Gathering Space

Whether it’s a movement or dance class, a birthday celebration, or a community gathering, UCC offers a welcoming environment designed for comfort and connection. Our space is thoughtfully equipped, affordable, and available at low cost for other organizations, making it accessible to all.
